I’ve always been fairly ambivalent about this symbol.  I think when it was first created, I was too young and afraid of what wearing a symbol like this would mean, and as I got older, I was disappointed by the commodification of it, and the usurpation by any number of causes that sort of watered it down. I’ve always been more a pink triangle person myself, though it’s meaning is very different. Seeing this (found in the AIDS archive here at the ICI), holding it and reading the history of it, knowing it was made with love and compassion I feel differently.  It has the aura of history for sure.
