Writer's pictureICI Intern

Elisa, Public Imaging

My name is Elisa and I am the Public Imaging Intern for the ICI this summer. This blog is also my summer project! I thought creating a blog fits nicely into how I see my position at the ICI – a lot of my job involves investigating all the tools that the Internet has to offer and brainstorming how the Institute can utilize these mechanisms. Since the Internet has become such a large cultural phenomenon in a short amount of time, I think it is fitting that I would use a blog to interact with the World Wide Web and also to record what it is like to be an Intern for the ICI in the Summer of 2010.

We are all connected, after all

I am a rising Junior at the University of Pennsylvania double majoring in Communication and Cognitive Neuroscience.  I was mostly interested in this position because I am intrigued by how the Internet has changed the way we communicate forever, and also because I think the ICI is such a fascinating place!  Even though it’s only been a month and a half since I started this internship, it has already changed the way I look at a website – now I’m realizing how Social Media is penetrating everything on the web, and there is really no way to get away from it!  More updates to come soon!
