Writer's pictureICI Intern

This is Joyce!

Hello World Wide Web,

My name is Joyce Ortiz. I am a student at UC Irvine majoring in Anthropology and Sociology. In addition to Anthropology and Sociology, I also love studying Theology. I hope to one day pursue a masters in that area of study. I also have a passion for traveling, experiencing, and learning about different cultures. These are some of the reasons I applied for the Archivist position at ICI. The Institute of Cultural Inquiry library contains rare books that come from different countries and are written in different languages. There are books that provide cultural histories, photographic stories, and scientific research.

For my position with the institution’s library, I am inventorying, cataloging, and preserving the ICI library. This internship has given me many opportunities to come across books I never knew about! That is just so cool!
